Learner-centered approaches are reflected in practices in which the instructor still defines largely what needs to be learned, but how that learning takes place and how it might be represented are things students are increasingly empowered to determine. Learning-centered approaches, finally, acknowledge that the world is changing, and precisely what an individual will need to know cannot be determined solely by an instructor.
